11 Day European Delight

Your Trip starts on day one from London to Rome where you will stay for two nights. On the third day you travel to Siena and stay over for two nights in Florence. Next its onto Bologna and stay over for two nights in the romantic city of Venice. The seventh day takes you to Verona with two nights stay at Lucerne. After your orientation tour you travel to Paris and stay for the last two nights of your trip before heading back to London.

First day Arrive in Rome

Welcome to Rome! Unwind after your journey. Meet later with your Travel Director and fellow travellers.

Second day enjoy Sightseeing and Free Time in Rome

Your Local Specialist takes you on a fantastic sightseeing tour. Visit St. Peter's Basilica and admire Michelangelo's Renaissance masterpiece, the Pietà. Your guided tour continues across the Tiber in ancient Rome where you view the Forum, the mighty Colosseum and Circus Maximus. Spend time afterwards seeing more sights or shopping for souvenirs.

Third day its off to Siena then Florence

Head north through the Chianti wine-producing region to the beautiful medieval city of Siena in Tuscany. Stroll through ancient cobbled streets to Piazza del Campo where the colourful Palio horse race takes place every year. Marvel at the striped marble cathedral and shop for attractive ceramic pottery. Arrive later in Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance and your home for the next two nights.

Fourth day Orientation and Free Time in FLorence

Florence is a treasure trove of art and history! Enjoy spectacular views from Piazzale Michelangelo, then spend time exploring the delights of this amazing city. Perhaps visit Piazza della Signoria featuring many statues and palazzos, and don't miss the Duomo or Giotto's Bell Tower. Florence is also renowned for high quality leather goods and 18-carat gold.

Fifth day Travel to Bologna then Venice

Cross the forested Apennines to the city of Bologna, home to one of the oldest universities in Europe and famous for sausages and salami! Your sightseeing tour with a Local Specialist includes views of the Kissing Towers. Continue along the Brenta, across the Po Delta and into the Venice region – Queen of the Adriatic.

Sixth day enjoy Orientation and Free Time in Venice

Admire the many sights of this Byzantine city as you cruise by private launch to St. Mark's Square. See the Palladian Churches of the Redeemer and St. George, the ornate Doge's Palace. Marvel at the Basilica and Campanile. Watch the Venetian craftsmen at work creating local specialities at a glassblowing workshop on Giudecca island. In your free time, take an optional cruise across the lagoon to the Island of Burano for a delicious meal!

Seventh day visit Verona then Lake Lucerne

Follow the Veneto plains to Verona and stop to see the Roman Arena and Juliet's balcony. Pass Milan and head north to the Italian and Swiss Lake Districts via Como and Lugano. Drive along the scenic alpine St. Gotthard route through central Switzerland to the picturesque town of Lucerne.

Eighth day Orientation in Lake Lucerne plus Free Time

Enjoy the sights of Lucerne during your orientation tour, including the 14th century wooden Chapel Bridge and a visit to the Lion Monument commemorating the heroic Swiss Guards during the French Revolution. In your free time, take an exhilarating mountain excursion, shop for Swiss watches and chocolate or perhaps explore the flower bedecked squares and fortified towers in the quaint old town.

Ninth day from Lake Lucerne to Paris

Drive across the French border past Belfort and the remains of the Maginot Line, and through the Burgundy wine region. View the sprawling vineyards that stretch across the hillsides. Arrive later in Paris, the City of Light. Tonight, why not dine at a cosy Parisian bistro and finish with a dazzling tour of the city's illuminations?

Tenth day Experience Paris with Orientation and Free Time

Views of the Eiffel Tower, Champs Élysées and Arc de Triomphe – your Local Specialist shows you all this and more during your sightseeing tour! Spend free time exploring the banks of the Seine. This evening you might like to experience a world famous cabaret show!

Last day Depart Paris

Traverse northern France past World War I battlefields. Cross the English Channel to Dover where you see the famous White Cliffs. In London, say goodbye to your Travel Director and newfound friends at the end of your spectacular European holiday!

Swiss Heritage Experience. A chance to get to know the Swiss, you'll meet local farmers and enjoy a delightful countryside tour in horse drawn carriages. Soak up the stunning scenery as we trot around a typical rural community, en route to a working farm where you'll savour local drinks and snacks.

Mount Stanserhorn And Lake Cruise. Take a scenic cruise with us across Lake Lucerne to Stans, and one of Switzerland's oldest mountain railways. Travelling by railway and Cabri cable car, we'll reach 1900m (6300ft), where you'll have free time to admire the stunning Alpine scenery and enjoy some refreshments. (On certain departures Optional may be operated in reverse, ending with the cruise.)

An Introduction To Rome. As you meander slowly through Rome's labyrinth of narrow streets and beautiful squares, our Local Specialist will tell you stories of how each area has developed over centuries, creating an amazing legacy for us today. During the tour, you'll visit the Pantheon and experience Piazza Navona, loved for its lively cafes.

Roman Evening With Dinner. Spend a light-hearted evening with us in Rome. Relax and enjoy typical Italian cuisine with drinks and music. Afterwards, we'll drive along the Via Veneto, a location made famous by the film 'La Dolce Vita', and which will give you a glimpse into how the Romans enjoy their city.

The Delights Of Rome. Spend an evening getting to know Rome. We'll take you via coach where you'll have the chance to see some of the city's much-loved sights. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a delicious light dinner of Italian specialities, alongside local music and drinks.

Inside The Vatican And The Colosseum. Join us for an extension to your included sightseeing tour, which gives you a chance to see the artistic masterpieces collected and commissioned by the Popes. You'll visit the Tapestry Gallery, Gallery of Maps and the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo spent 11 years preparing the vault and altar wall, and we give you plenty of time to admire just how much painstaking work went into his creations. Your evening will be rounded off with a visit to Rome's iconic Colosseum.

Florence's Renaissance Treasures. This trip is all about exploring the jewel in Florence's crown: its Renaissance heritage. First, you'll get to view the Michelangelo collection, including the statue of David at the Academy of Fine Arts. You'll continue to the Duomo where you'll see first-hand its spectacular design. The trip ends in Signoria Square, the political centre of Florence.

Pisa And The Arno Valley With Tuscan Dinner. Visit the historical city of Pisa with our Local Specialist who will give you an insight into its leaning tower, medieval squares and markets. You'll have free time to shop, followed by locally-loved food and music in an authentic Fattoria (working farm house) in the Tuscan countryside.

Discover The Magic Of Venice. Join us for a scenic cruise by private water taxi along Venice's Grand Canal. You'll admire the magnificent palazzos, as well as catching a glimpse of the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square. Later on, you'll glide gracefully on a gondola along Venice's dreamy, narrow waterways. And if you're lucky, your gondolier will serenade you with an Italian classic.
