Day by day

First Day Welcome to Tel Aviv

You are met at Ben Gurion Airport and transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv. Tonight meet your fellow passengers for welcome drink and a short introduction about the tour.

Second Day Explore vibrant Tel Aviv

Sightseeing this morning shows you all the highlights of this vibrant city - the Habimah National Theatre, Rabin Square and Carmel market. Drive along the seashore to the ancient city of Jaffa - see the famous clock tower and view the old harbour. Visit the artists' quarter with its galleries, boutiques and picturesque narrow lanes. Tonight enjoy a Shabbat dinner at your hotel.

Third Day To the Crusader cities of Caesarea and Acre and on to Nazareth

Leaving Tel Aviv, drive along the coastal road to Caesarea to explore the ancient Roman and Crusader ruins, including the huge amphitheatre. Travel via Haifa to Acre, fought over for centuries and captured in turn by Saracens and Crusaders, including Richard the Lionheart. See the fortress, the old harbour area and Crusader crypt before continuing to Nazareth. Visit one of Christianity's most sacred places, the Church of Annunciation, on the site where the angel is said to have appeared to Mary. Now on to your welcoming hotel in Tiberias, on the Sea of Galilee. The day concludes with a brief introduction to life on a Kibbutz.

Fourth Day along the Jordan to the Dead Sea

Visit the ancient wooden boat, which is said to date back to the times of Jesus and enjoy a boat ride on THE Sea of Galilee. Visit Capernaum where Jesus is said to have entered the Synagogue and taught, and then head to the Mount of Beatitudes, where He preached the Sermon on the Mount. Now journey through ever changing landscapes along the Jordan Valley, past ancient Jericho to take a dip in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea.

Fifth Day On to the fortress of Masada and to Jerusalem

Take a cable-car ride up to the fortress of Masada, where Jewish Zealots held out for three years against Herod's armies, before mass suicide prevented final surrender. Pass the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found at Qumran, before driving through the Judean hills to Jerusalem. Continue up to Mount Scopus from where there is a breathtaking view of Jerusalem. Afterwards, visit King David's Tomb on Mount Zion and the Room of the Last Supper before entering the Old City. Here walk along winding cobbled alleyways to the magnificent Western Wall - the most sacred monument in Judaism. Then check in to your hotel for three fabulous nights.

Sixth Day Explore Jerusalem

Visit Yad Vashem, the memorial in tribute to those who perished in the Holocaust and the Shrine of the Book, a wing of the Israel Museum, housing the Dead Sea Scrolls. Later, there is an optional excursion to Bethlehem.

Seventh Day more time in Jerusalem

During your stay you'll also visit the Garden of Gethsemene and walk through the Old City to see the Temple Mount, one of Islam's holiest sites. Continue along the Via Dolorosa past the Stations of the Cross, Ecce Homo Arch, Pool of Bethesda to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Tonight, enjoy an end-of-tour Celebration Dinner with wine.

Eighth Day across the Judaean Desert to Amman

Drive through the Judaean Desert to the border with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. With the formalities completed, you are met on the other side and transfer through a landscape that has changed little in the last 2,000 years. Once at your Amman hotel, relax and settle in before joining your Jordanian Tour Director for a Welcome Reception, drinks and a Welcome Dinner.

Ninth Day its onto Jerash, the Pompeii of the East and on to Petra

The trip to Jerash reveals the most beautifully preserved example of a Greco-Roman city still in existence. Enter through Hadrian's Arch, to explore the grand ruins of the temples of Artemis and Zeus, where you can listen to the Whispering Column, and overlook the vast Oval Plaza, and Cardo Maximus, the main Roman road.Return to Amman for a city tour seeing the huge Roman Amphitheatre and the Citadel Hill. After some free time, continue south to the UNESCO listed site of Petra - voted as one of the ‘New Seven Wonders of the World'.

Tenth day Travel to the Lost City of Petra

Today is devoted to this beautiful ‘rose red city, half as old as time'. The approach to this lost city is through a narrow gorge, the Siq, whose walls rise up 200 metres. Emerge from the path to see the magnificent Treasury, carved out of solid rock and standing over 40 meters high. Wind your way through the canyon to explore the Roman Amphitheatre, which once seated 3,000 spectators, and the ancient tombs.

Eleventh Day along King’s Highway to Shobak, Mt. Nebo, Madaba and Amman

Follow the King's Highway to visit Shobak, an authentic 12C crusader fortress, perched on the side of a rocky mountain, standing guard over a barren and desolate land. Admire the Arabic calligraphy on the external walls and towers before discovering the original Crusader chapel, palace complex and even a set of secret passages! Continue to Mt Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites of Jordan, where Moses stood and saw before him the Promised Land. At Madaba visit the famous Greek Orthodox Church of St. George with its amazing 6th century mosaic map depicting the entire Holy Land - from Jordan and Palestine in the north, to Egypt in the south. Now return to the Jordanian capital where you are at leisure.

Twelfth Day Depart Amman

Mount Nebo: Look down upon Moses's Promised Land. The view is amazing and the ruins are a site to behold!

Tel Aviv: See Habimah National Theatre, Rabin Square and Carmel market.

Jaffa: Visit the ancient port and artists' quarter.

Acre: See the fortress, the old harbour area and Crusader crypt.

Nazareth: Visit the Church of the Annunciation.
