Day by day
First Day Arrive in San Francisco, the City by the Bay
Enjoy your complimentary private V.I.P. door-to-door transfer to your UK departure airport. Welcome to California! On arrival at San Francisco International Airport, your transfer takes you to your tour hotel. At 6.00 pm, join your Tour Director for a Welcome Reception with drinks and a light meal.
Second Day Explore San Francisco
Spend the morning taking in the sights of the city - the bustling activity in Union Square and the beautiful Golden Gate Park. Later, join your Tour Director and fellow passengers for an informative walking tour through Chinatown followed by an authentic Chinese banquet Highlight Dinner at a local restaurant.
Third Day a taste of California’s Wine Country
Enter the Napa Valley in California's lush premier wine country with a visit to the Benziger Family Winery for a fabulous private tram tour. Take a close up look at the vines and learn about the biodynamic farming approach and the history of the winery while enjoying the breathtaking views. See the terraced vineyards and visit the crush pad, barrel aging caves and Tasting Room where you'll enjoy an exclusive tasting. Later this afternoon, peruse the quaint shops at Sonoma's historic plaza. The evening is at leisure.
Fourth Day Visit Yosemite National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Travel through California's Gold Country and into the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Yosemite National Park. Explore the valley floor with its spectacular waterfalls, the imposing rock formations of El Capitan and Half Dome and abundant wildlife. Tonight, enjoy your newly refurbished rooms, at your hotel, located inside the park, close to North America's highest waterfall.
Fifth Day Drive across Monterey, the Cradle of History
Drive down the Sierras and through the fertile San Joaquin Valley. Purchase local fresh fruit at an historic fruit stand en route to picturesqu Carmel-by-the-Sea. Browse the art galleries and shops on Ocean Avenue, before a relaxing drive across the Monterey Peninsula and along scenic 17-Mile Drive. Pass the famous Pebble Beach Golf Links and multi-million dollar mansions before arriving in charming Monterey. Enjoy a customized food tour upon arrival in Carmel where you'll learn about local flavour, culture, art, architecture, and history. For your dining pleasure this evening, you are offered a selection of local restaurants to choose from.
Sixth Day Travel to Hearst Castle and the American Riviera
Head south to La Cuesta Encantada, ‘The Enchanted Hill' high above the ocean at San Simeon, for a guided tour of Hearst Castle - the grandiose estate of publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst. Continue south through the vineyards of the Central Coast to the resort town of Santa Barbara, often billed as the ‘American Riviera'. Check into your beachfront hotel.
Seventh Day see Santa Monica and the City of Angels
Visit the beautiful Mission Santa Barbara and learn about the chain of 21 missions along California's El Camino Real. Then journey along spectacular Santa Monica Bay, passing through glamorous Malibu on your way to Santa Monica. Take time to stroll along the popular Third Street Promenade. Visit the stunning Getty Villa, a recreation of an ancient Roman country house, for a guided tour. Continue on to your luxurious hotel at L.A. LIVE. This evening, set out for a popular restaurant to enjoy a glittering Highlight Dinner L.A. style.
Eighth Day enjoy Los Angeles Sightseeing
This morning, spot the Hollywood Sign during your sightseeing tour, view Grauman's Chinese Theater and stroll along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Experience the glitz and glam of Hollywood on a private tour of the Dolby Theatre, home to the Academy Awards ceremony.
Ninth Day go across the Mojave to Scottsdale
Travel across the Mojave Desert wilderness. Arrive in Phoenix where your idyllic resort is just next door in neighbouring Scottsdale.
Tenth Day Journey to Sedona and the Wonders of the Mighty Grand Canyon
Head north to the quaint bohemian colony of Sedona, and browse the stores and galleries. Enjoy one of Arizona's finest drives through Oak Creek Canyon, before travelling on to Grand Canyon National Park. Spend the night inside the park, enjoying the peace and quiet after the crowds have departed. During your stay, join a local expert for an informative presentation about the wonders of the Grand Canyon. This evening, enjoy a private dinner in the Thunderbird Room while taking in the magnificent views.
Eleventh Day its onto Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell
The choice is yours this morning: wake up early and see the sun rise over the canyon or ask your Tour Director about optional flightseeing experiences over this natural wonder. Later, move on to the Historic Cameron Trading Post. The journey carries on through the Painted Desert, a colourful fantasy land of mesas, buttes and badlands, and through the Navajo Indian Reservation. Stop at the Glen Canyon Dam to learn about its impact on the Colorado River before arriving at your lakefront resort. Check into your room which has guaranteed lake views before taking a leisurely cruise on spectacular Lake Powell.
Twelth Day Excursion to Monument Valley
Today is entirely yours to do as you please. Relax and enjoy the resort's facilities, or join an excursion to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park for a guided tour.
Thirteenth Day Bryce Canyon’s Stony Symphony
Perhaps join an optional float trip down one of the most scenic stretches of the Colorado River before heading to Bryce Canyon National Park in Southern Utah. Enjoy a leisurely walk along Sunset Point to view the great amphitheatres of odd-shaped monoliths known as hoodoos. There is time at leisure before checking in at the lodge. In the evening, join your Tour Director and newfound friends for an end-of-tour Celebration Dinner including drinks.
Fourteenth Day Travel from Zion to Las Vegas - from Nature to Neon
Travel through more amazing scenery to the lush cliff-and-canyon landscape of Zion National Park. Board a private Zion Canyon Shuttle with live commentary to experience the scenic highlights of the park, followed by some time to explore at your own pace. Later, arrive in Las Vegas, a collection of bright lights and shopping malls, huge themed hotels of unbelievable design and the omnipresent slot machine. Your hotel is a breath of fresh air - modern and luxurious.
Fifteenth Day Depart Las Vegas
Your adventure ends with a departure transfer to Las Vegas International Airport or extend your stay in Las Vegas. On arrival at your UK airport, your driver will greet you and escort you to your waiting car for your return private V.I.P. door-to-door transfer home.
Napa Valley: Visit Benziger Winery for a private tram tour including the barrel aging caves and an exclusive tasting.
Hearst Castle: Ascend the ‘Enchanted Hill' for a guided tour of one of America's grandest private estates.
