Day by day

First Day London to Stratford-Upon-Avon and York

Enjoy a scenic drive and visit Shakespeare's birthplace and Visitor Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon and see Anne Hathaway's thatched cottage. Later, in York, see York Minster and walk along the famous Shambles. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Reception with a traditional pub meal. It's the ideal opportunity to get to know your Travel Director and fellow travellers.

Second Day go from York to Hadrian’s Wall and Edinburgh 

Head north and cross the River Tyne at Newcastle. Stop and view Hadrian's Wall before crossing into ‘Bonnie Scotland'. Enjoy the scenery of the Scottish borders before arriving into Edinburgh.

Third Day enjoy Edinburgh Sightseeing and Free Time

This morning, discover the elegance of Edinburgh with your Local Specialist on an included city sightseeing tour. See the Royal Mile in the Old Town. View the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Arthur's Seat. Your guided visit inside Edinburgh Castle is informative and engaging. Your choice of sightseeing means you could chose to visit Edinburgh's Camera Obscura instead of the castle. Spend free time exploring on your own or join your Travel Director on an optional experience to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia. Tonight, why not attend a lively Scottish banquet with traditional haggis and bagpipes? During the Edinburgh Festival, your visit includes tickets to the spectacular Edinburgh Tattoo on the castle grounds.

Fourth Day visit Gretna Green, Lake District and Liverpool

Stop at Gretna Green, a town popular with eloping couples. Here the marriage ceremony was traditionally performed across a blacksmith's anvil. Admire the views throughout the scenic Lake District. These scenes provided William Wordsworth with the inspiration to write the poem ‘Daffodils'. Visit the town of Grasmere and see St. Oswald's church where the poet is buried. Later arrive in Liverpool hometown of the 'Fab Four'.

Fifth Day its onto Ludlow and Cardiff

Visit the Tudor market town of Ludlow with its historic castle and timbered buildings. See the Malvern Hills as you cross into Wales and visit its capital, Cardiff.  See Cardiff Bay, the Millenium Stadium and the castle before arriving at your hotel. Tonight enjoy a Be My Guest Farewell Dinner with beautiful views of the Welsh countryside.

Sixth Day Travel to Bath, Stonehenge and return to London

Visit Bath and view the Abbey before visiting the Roman Baths. At Stonehenge visit the mystical stone monoliths before returning to London where your memorable holiday ends.

A chance to view the glorious scenery of the Lake District as we cruise across England’s largest lake. Then step back in time as we board the steam train for a short journey from Lakeside to Haverthwaite.

Enjoy an exclusive cruise on a private boat on England's most beautiful and largest lake, taking in the northern coastline, beautiful houses, gardens and Wray Castle. You’ll see deserted islands, boats and birdlife as you explore the area loved by Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth.

Edinburgh

Tonight is your chance to put on that tartan and join us for an evening of singing, dancing and bagpipe playing at an internationally famous venue. You’ll enjoy delicious food and wine, join in the singing and watch a Highland dance or two. There's even a chance to sample Scotland’s national dish – haggis.

You’ll explore this magnificent ship, which has played host to some of the most famous people in the world. Now berthed in Leith, you’ll be welcomed on board to discover the heart and soul of this most special of royal residences – the former honeymoon sanctuary for four royal couples.
