Day by day

First Day Arrive in Calgary

Welcome to beautiful Canada! Get settled in at your hotel, located in the heart of downtown Calgary, and spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring. Visit the arts district or make use of easy access to public transportation to see all that Calgary has to offer. At 6 p.m., gather at the hotel with your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception.

Second Day from Calgary to Icefields Parkway, Columbia Icefield and Jasper 

Head north along the stunning Icefields Parkway driving alongside snow-capped peaks, thundering waterfalls and glistening glaciers. Keep an eye out for wildlife including grizzly and black bears, moose, elk and mountain goats. Upon arrival at the Columbia Icefield, board an Ice Explorer for a unique journey onto the massive Athabasca Glacier. Stay tonight in the heart of Jasper National Park.

Third Day enjoy Jasper National Park Free Time and Sightseeing

Start the day with a morning at leisure, enjoying the superb vistas, strolling Jasper's quaint streets, or, if you like, take an optional float trip down the Athabasca River before an interpretive walk at Maligne Canyon, one of the most beautiful gorges in the Rockies. Learn about the underground river system while following the canyon's trail past waterfalls and jagged rock formations. Later this afternoon, cruise Maligne Lake, followed by a rustic dinner along the lake. Learn about Rocky Mountain wildlife at an interactive, after-dinner presentation by a Local Expert.

Fourth Day go from Jasper to Yoho and Emerald Lake Banff 

Head south and cross the Continental Divide as you set out for Yoho National Park with its towering waterfalls, spectacular scenery and natural bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. See Emerald Lake, sparkling with the blue-green hue of a precious jewel. Ice-blue glaciers, pounding waterfalls and surging rivers abound on the way to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Banff National Park. Your day ends with a Highlight Dinner in the quintessential alpine village of Banff.

Fifth Day visit Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and Free Time in Banff

Visit postcard-perfect Lake Louise and take a narrated stroll along the lakeshore to learn about the geology and history of the area. Continue on to stunning Moraine Lake, nestled in the dramatic Valley of the Ten Peaks. Spend the rest of the day as you like—perhaps ride on the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain to experience a bird’s-eye view of six mountain ranges or a river float trip down the Bow River. The evening is yours to enjoy.

Sixth Day enjoy Free Time in Banff

Today is yours to explore as you please. Browse the shops along Banff Avenue, take a hike and enjoy your spectacular setting or be wowed by aerial views of the Rockies with an optional scenic helicopter flight over Mount Assiniboine. Your Travel Director will be happy to assist you in planning your day. This evening, join your new-found friends at a festive Farewell Dinner and learn about the history of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police during a "Meet a Mountie" Local Expert presentation.

Seventh Day Depart Calgary

This morning, descend from the Canadian Rockies. Upon arrival in Calgary, a complimentary transfer is provided to Calgary International Airport or the Delta Bow Valley hotel in Calgary for guests extending their stay. Please do not schedule any flights before 2 p.m.

Enjoy a unique perspective of Jasper National Park as you raft down the Athabasca River. This safe, comfortable ride along 10 miles (16 kilometres) of river passes through small sets of rapids and calm stretches for a ride that any first-time rafter will enjoy. Your journey will be narrated by a licensed National Park guide who will point out the natural and human history of Jasper National Park and the famous route that was used by fur traders many years ago.Tour length: 50-90 minutes depending on water levels. Grab your camera and join us for a marvellously scenic float trip down Banff’s Bow River. Friendly, experienced oarsmen will guide you gently downstream along the scenic curves and beneath the majestic Rockies. Don’t worry, you won’t get wet! Look out for spotted elk, deer and even an occasional bear along the banks. The tranquillity of the river makes this one of the best opportunities for an intimate experience with nature at her most magnificent. Operates seasonally. A sensational flight will transport you to Mt. Assiniboine, “The Matterhorn” of the Canadian Rockies rising majestically to 11,870 feet (3,611 meters) along the Great Divide. The surrounding glaciers and icefalls will astound you and capture your imagination. This is a photographer’s dream come true. A 25 minute journey will take you to new heights through the Goat Range Pass and along the Sundance Range of Banff National Park where you will see mountain peaks, alpine meadows and pristine lakes.  An extraordinary adventure not to be missed! A must do extra. This will be the most action packed 12 minutes of your life.  Your adventure will take you past the Three Sisters Peaks as you spectacularly escape to the Spray Valley.  You will see the magnificent Goat Range where you will observe the radiant aqua blue/green colours of the Spray Lakes.  Your return flight will provide views of the Bow River as it meanders back towards the Town of Canmore. At the Banff Gondola, you’ll see more mountains in a moment than most see in a lifetime! Ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain to experience a bird’s eye view of six mountain ranges of the Canadian Rockies. Begin with an eight-minute journey to the summit in a fully enclosed four-passenger gondola cabin. The views become increasingly spectacular as you climb to an elevation of 7,486 feet ( 2,281 meters) to the Summit Upper Terminal. Witness the breathtaking views in every direction or go to the restaurant area to enjoy the views inside or from its upper deck. You can also take the Banff Sky walk for a short self-guided interpretive walkway along the summit ridge leading to the Cosmic Ray Station National Historic Site of Canada. Tour length: 2.5 hours.

An evening ride along the base of Sulphur Mountain to a delicious BBQ. Relax at 3 Mile Cabin by the Sundance Canyon Trail. While the guides cook your meal, try your hand at calf roping or a game of horseshoes. The return ride will take you along the banks of the Bow River. Duration: 3 hours
