Day by day

First Day welcome to Boston 

Welcome to Boston, also known as Beantown. Get settled in at your hotel before meeting your Travel Director this afternoon.

Second Day its Boston then Plymouth and Stay in Hyannis

This morning enjoy a city tour of Boston's historic sites. Head out along the Freedom Trail to see Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market and the site of the Boston Massacre. Drive by historical buildings including Old North Church, the Massachusetts State House and the impressive State Capitol near the top of Beacon Hill. From Boston, travel to Plymouth and Plimoth Plantation, a recreated 17th century village where costumed reenactors bring to life the history of the Plimoth Colony, one of the earliest English settlements in North America. On to Cape Cod, an area of both natural beauty and quaint colonial villages. Spend two nights in Hyannis, made famous by the Kennedys. (BB)

Third Day we visit Cape Cod and enjoy a Province-town Excursion

This morning, travel along historic Old King's Highway, a scenic byway winding through centuries of Cape Cod history. Visit Cape Cod National Seashore, with massive sand dunes and long sandy beaches; view Marconi Beach, named after the famous Italian inventor Marconi. Visit Province-town at the tip of the Cape. Once a whaling town, it has become famous as an artist colony and a popular summer resort. Enjoy some leisure time to browse through the galleries and arts and crafts stores or perhaps take an optional whale watching excursion. (BB)

Fourth Day we head to Pittsfield

Leave the Cape and head west to the towns and villages of Southeastern Massachusetts-the home of over 14,000 acres of working cranberry bogs. Visit one of them and learn all about Massachusetts' number one agricultural commodity crop. Continue along the Mohawk Trail, the first scenic road in New England, which officially opened in 1914. Continue through the rolling hills of the Berkshire Mountains. (BB)

Fifth Day its onto Vermont then we head to Burlington

Drive on through the rich colours of Vermont and stop at the Apple Barn in Bennington for an Iconic Breakfast including fresh picked apples, apple cider and Vermont Cheddar. Then it's on to Rockingham to visit the family-owned and operated Vermont Country Store, a general store of yesteryear with practical and hard-to-find products from around the block and around the world. Next stop is at Quechee Gorge for breathtaking views of Vermont's deepest gorge, formed by glacial activity over 13,000 years ago. Then it's onto Woodstock, a charming town with quaint houses, churches and a picturesque covered bridge. Then drive through the Green Mountain National Forest to Burlington, set on the shores of glittering Lake Champlain. (IB)

Sixth Day see the sights of Burlington at your Leisure

Enjoy a free day in Burlington, ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the prettiest towns in America. The city's location on Lake Champlain provides a scenic backdrop to a lively and charming downtown, Church Street Marketplace, full of shops, restaurants, bars and culture. As an option, join a luncheon cruise aboard the Spirit of Ethan Allen. (CB)

Seventh Day we travel to North Conway

Travel through Jeffersonville, the ultimate New England town with beautiful old colonial homes, antique shops and art galleries. Stop at Stowe, a wonderfully eclectic New England town tucked away in the Green Mountains at the base of Mount Mansfield. Continue on to Montpelier, the nation's smallest capital city with its elegant gold-domed state house. Stop at Morse Farm Maple Sugar-works for a sugar house visit and tasting of Sugar on Snow-maple sugar served on ice with a pickle. Cross the state border into New Hampshire and enter the White Mountains, travelling through Franconia Notch State Park. Drive along the Kancamagus Highway, called "The Kanc," New England's most scenic byway. Arrive in North Conway for a two-night stay. (CB)

Eighth Day its Sightseeing and Free Time in North Conway

This morning, take the quintessential fall colour excursion to the White Mountains past Mount Washington-the tallest peak in the northeast at 6,288 feet (1,917 metres)-through Crawford Notch State Park. Stop for picture taking at Silver Cascade Waterfall and Bretton Woods, offering stunning views of Mount Washington. Stop at the Rocks Estate; tour the farm and learn about the history and importance of maple sugaring in the region, including a visit to a virtual tap room. Back in North Conway, the rest of the day is yours to do as you please. (BB)

Ninth Day we journey to Portsmouth

Continue through New Hampshire and stop at the Castle in the Clouds for a visit of this superb Arts and Craft building and enjoy the superb views over Lake Winnipesaukee. Cross the state border into Maine and arrive at charming Kennebunkport; travel along Ocean Drive with stunning views of the Maine coastline and the homes of the rich and famous, including the summer retreat of former President George H.W. Bush. Take a walk along the waterfront before continuing to charming Portsmouth. (BB)

Tenth Day we bid Farewell to Boston

Continue south to Boston Logan International Airport or the Boston hotel for guests wishing to extend their stay. (CB)
