First Day Welcome to Zagreb

Welcome to Zagreb. Spend the afternoon relaxing or take a stroll. This evening, meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers for an included dinner. (D)

Second Day enjoy Sightseeing and Free Time in Zagreb

Zagreb is a traditional medieval European city with a wealth of historic monuments. Your Local Specialist shows you the highlights including the Upper and Lower town, vibrant market place, the majestic Cathedral, Archbishop's Palace, St. Mark's Church and the Opera House. Spend free time exploring the winding streets of the Old Town or consider an Optional Experience into the surrounding countryside. (BB)

Third Day see the sights of Sarajevo 

Travel south from Croatia into Bosnia-Herzegovina before arriving in the fascinating capital city Sarajevo. Due to its rich religious and cultural history, Sarajevo is often called the Jerusalem of Europe. The city contains synagogues, mosques, orthodox as well as Catholic Churches - all in one city. In 1914 the city was the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand which prompted the start of the First World War. Your Local Specialist will show you the important sights. Tonight, choose to dine with local Sarajevans. (BB)

Fourth Day we visit Medjugorie then head to Mostar

Today leave Sarajevo and travel through dramatic mountainous scenery to Medjugorje - since 1981 it has become a popular site of religious pilgrimage due to reports of apparitions of the Virgin Mary to six local Catholics. Later travel to Mostar where you’ll meet your Local Specialist. This city is named after its Old Bridge, the 'Stari Most', built by Sinan the great Ottoman architect and one of Bosnia-Herzegovina's most recognisable landmarks. Destroyed during the war it has been rebuilt using the same methods as during the 16th century. You will also visit the Bazaar and see the Mosque. (BB),(D)

Fifth day we take a walking tour of Dubrovnik

This morning after breakfast towards the Dalmatian coast and the spectacular medieval city of Dubrovnik. Enjoy a sightseeing walking tour of the main sights with a Local Specialist. Admire the Rector's Palace, the city walls, Onofrio's Fountain and the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries. (BB)

Sixth Day its Free Time in Dubrovnik or Optional Trip to Montenegro

Seventh Day see the Historical Sights of Split

Depart Dubrovnik and travel north along the spectacular Adriatic coast, past old fishing villages and new resorts, to Split. Enjoy a city tour with a Local Specialist featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. See the remnants of Split's Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. (BB),(D)

Ninth Day Breathtaking sights in Plitvice then its back to Zagreb 

This morning travel to the forested National Park of Plitvice. Admire the breathtaking waterfalls and lakes of this spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site on your walking tour with a Local Specialist. See lakes of crystal-clear water in many colourful shades of green, grey and blue which are linked by spectacular waterfalls. This evening arrive at your hotel in Zagreb and enjoy dinner at the hotel. (BB),(D)

A scenic drive out of Zagreb with our Local Specialist brings us to the Croatian village of Kumrovec, birthplace of the late President of Yugoslavia, Marshall Tito. You’ll explore his house, now a museum, and have time to explore the museum village. Later share a meal of local specialities in a picturesque restaurant, with magnificent views of the Croatian countryside.

Sarajevo Home Hosted Evening

Enjoy a true insight into local culture as you’re invited into a Sarajevo local's home, to savour warm hospitality and tasty traditional cuisine. There’ll be no more than several guests with each family, ensuring a cosy and memorable evening.

Traditional Bosnian Dinner with Entertainment

Enjoy a typical Bosnian evening in an authentic restaurant, famous for its local cuisine, accompanied with lively entertainment, to ensure an unforgettable final evening in Sarajevo.

Mystical Blagaj

Journey with your Local Specialist through the picturesque Old Tsar vineyards and magnificent valleys of fruit trees, to the town of Blagaj, famous for the natural spring of the Buna River, the largest karst spring in Europe and one of the most mystical cultural and historical monuments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We'll visit a well-preserved 17th-century Ottoman House, a living museum, where we can sample the famous Bosnian coffee and enjoy a guided tour of the surroundings.

Dinner with a Panoramic Dubrovnik View

From Old Dubrovnik port we'll sail to St. Jacobs beach, the most attractive and romantic beach with the best view over the famous Dubrovnik city walls. There we'll enjoy local traditional cuisine with drinks. Afterwards, we'll stroll through the illuminated Old Town of Dubrovnik before returning to our Hotel.

Sunset Cruise And Dinner

Our sunset cruise takes us along the spectacular Dalmatian coast to one of the secluded bays where we'll enjoy a delicious local dinner with drinks. To complete the evening, we'll cruise outside the old city walls and explore the beautiful illuminated city of Dubrovnik, before returning by coach to our hotel. (n.b. This optional is weather dependent and may not be available on all departures)

Montenegro Adventure

We drive south along the Adriatic coast into the country of Montenegro. At the border we meet our Local Specialist, and embark on a panoramic boat trip to Our Lady of the Rocks island, constructed by local sailors over six centuries in veneration of a holy relic discovery. Afterwards we sail across the Bay of Kotor, past spectacular fjord-like scenery, approaching the fortified town of Kotor, surrounded with steep mountains and protected by UNESCO. After a guided walking tour, we will have free time to enjoy delicious local cuisine and buy last Montenegrin souvenirs before returning to Dubrovnik. Jewel of the Adriatic

A memorable day trip to Hvar, one of the most beautiful islands in the Croatian archipelago. Embarking on a boat ride from Split harbour, we'll explore the historic Hvar Old Town on foot with our Local Specialist. You'll spend free time relaxing along one of the seafront restaurants or soaking up the stunning views from the Venetian hilltop fortress. At the end of the day, we'll sail back over the Adriatic on our return to Split.
