Day by day

First Day Welcome to Singapore

Arrive at the iconic Raffles Hotel and check-in for your train journey before boarding the Eastern and Oriental Express at Woodland Railway Station. Afternoon tea is served on board, then spend time relaxing or exploring the train.

Savour an aperitif accompanied by live piano music in the Bar Car before your first dinner on board. Later, disembark for a night-time stroll through Kuala Lumpur’s magnificent station.

Second Day its onto Malaysia

Enjoy breakfast in your cabin before disembarking at Kuala Kangsar. Tour this royal town, visiting the Ubudiah Mosque, the Royal Museum of Perak and the Sultan Shah Gallery.

Rejoin the train for a delicious lunch, then watch the ever-changing scenery as you cross into Thailand.

Third and Fourth Day we head to Bangkok

Alight in the morning at the River Kwai Bridge station for a cruise along the picturesque river with a local historian. After, visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre and take some time to visit the Don Rak War Cemetery.

Return to the train for lunch, before ending your journey in Bangkok in the late afternoon. Transfer to the famous Mandarin Oriental hotel and settle in for two nights in Bangkok. Discover the city at leisure. As intoxicating as it is diverse, it’s a melting pot of exotic aromas, interesting sights and visual delights.

Fifth and Sixth Day we Fly to Yangon

Transfer from your hotel to airport for your flight with Thai Airways (Economy Class) from Bangkok to Yangon.

Arriving into Yangon, check in for a two-night stay at the romantic, colonial-style Belmond Governor's Residence.

Enjoy a half day tour of the colourful city. Witness the dazzling golden pagodas, the National Museum and lively Bogyoke Market, piled high with local handicrafts, gems and antiques.

Seventh Day we Fly to Mandalay and board your Ship

Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight from Yangon to Mandalay. On arrival, take a short trip to the Sagaing Hills and enjoy stunning panoramic views.

Transfer to the Belmond Road to Mandalay, berthed on the Ayeyarwady River, before the ship sets sail. After lunch, you'll take a guided tour of this former royal capital.

Eighth Day we Cruise the Ayeyarwady River

Join an early morning walking tour of Shwe Kyet Yet Village before breakfast. Sail to the ancient capital of Ava and embark for tour of this historic site by horse-drawn cart.

Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure on the ship, with afternoon tea and on board lectures. A casual cocktail party is followed by dinner on board.

Ninth Day arrive in Bagan with Sightseeing of the City

The ship arrives at Bagan where over 2,000 temples and pagodas are scattered on an awe-inspiring plain beside the river. A guided orientation tour introduces you to the most significant sites.

After lunch, rejoin the tour or explore the city at leisure by bicycle or horse-drawn cart.

Tenth Day we bid Farewell

Following breakfast, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Yangon and continue with your onward travel arrangements.
